As a partner and advocate for mentoring programs in Virginia, VMP seeks to engage the public and raise awareness for mentoring on behalf of the programs and young people we serve.

When possible, VMP connects mentoring programs, school systems, their staff and volunteers with local media partners to give the mentoring community an opportunity to share stories of the power of mentoring. Through these efforts, VMP hopes to raise awareness, statewide, for the benefits of effective mentoring relationships.

VMP convenes the mentoring community for the Annual Statewide Mentoring Awards event and offers educational workshops in a conference or forum setting.

VMP also serves as a state lead partner for National Mentoring Month, a national media campaign to recruit more volunteer mentors.
