VMP offers several interactive and engaging training sessions aimed at preparing mentors, school volunteers, and tutors for their experiences working with and supporting youth. In each session, participants receive up to three hours of training and a certificate of completion. Trainers include a range of professionals with varied areas of expertise related to youth mentoring, training, and education.
Each training has an administrative fee of $50 unless your program is covered under grant funding received by VMP. Additional costs may apply depending on number of training participants, location of training and whether or not customization is requsted.
Scholarships are available to cover some training costs. Scholarships are based on your program's budget, using a sliding scale. If you are interested in collaborating on grant with VMP to include VMP's training and technical assistance services, please contact Rick Golembeski, VMP Development Director at (804) 828-1536.
Training sessions are available daytime or evening Monday-Saturday (with at least two weeks notice). At least 8 people are required to set up a training session.
